Dale H. Schulte, 71, of Watkins, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Norway, Iowa, with Father Craig Stimel officiating. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery, Watkins, with military honors.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at St. Michael's Parish Hall, with a rosary at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before the service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Dale was born Nov. 27, 1945, to Bernard and Sylvia (Brockschink) Schulte in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dale graduated from Norway High School in 1963. He attended ISU's farm operation program, and then served in the U.S. Army in Thailand and Alaska. Following his service, he went home to work the family farm. Dale married Lois Burkle on Sept., 25, 1971, in Ryan. Together, they raised their children on their farm near Watkins, where Dale farmed and was the owner operator of a bulldozer.
Dale enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a fan of both ISU and the U of I. He was a fan of purebred Polled Hereford cattle and hogs and John Deere tractors and equipment.
Dale was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and going to their school sports activities. He always was one to be helping out all his neighbors, family and friends.
Dale was a proud member of Norway American Legion Post 234, Farm Bureau and Iowa Polled Hereford Association.
Dale is survived by his wife, Lois Schulte of Watkins; children, Christopher (Kelly) Schulte of Norway, Patrick Schulte of Watkins, Jayne (Pat) Merges of Cedar Rapids, Sara (Shawn) Kreutner of Vinton and Derrick (Colleen Grafton) Schulte of Dows; grandchildren, Megan, Morgan and Cameron Schulte, Dalton and Harley Schulte, Connor Merges, and Will, Candace and Carly Kreutner; siblings, Florine (Ron) Swanson of Galt and Orlan (Deb) Schulte of Norway; sister-in-law, Ingrid Krauss-Schulte of Amana; and many more loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Myrl and Alvin Schulte; and father-in-law, Leon Burkle.
