David Paul Williams, 62, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Service: 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
Survivors include his children, Shelene (Toran) Billups, Nathan (Callen) Williams and Samuel Williams; grandson, Christopher; brothers, Daniel, Dale and Darrin (Lora) Williams; and nieces and nephews, Sara, Samantha, Benjamin and Erin. David will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Jane.
David was born on Feb. 25, 1954, son of Gerald and Jeanette (Leighty) Williams. He married Jane Hansen on May 11, 2005. David worked for Home Based Primary Care in Iowa City and was very proud of his lifetime of service with the VA. David was known for wood-burning clocks, playing pool, golfing, bowling, watching drag races and listening to music.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
