RUTH ISABELLE GALLUP LOVE
Independence
Ruth Isabelle Gallup Love, 100, of Independence, formerly of Fairbank, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Lexington Estates in Independence. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Woods Funeral Home, Fairbank, with Pastor Allen Craft officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey of Independence; three nieces, Mary Lou Poggenpahl of North Liberty, Laura Ott of Fairbank and Arlene Zumbach of Marion; and a nephew, Frank Gallup of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Loren Gallup; a nephew, Donald Peterson; and a niece, Norma Palmer Kunkle.
Ruth was born on Sept. 28, 1916, in Fairmount, N.D., to Frank Dewees and Nellie Washburn. She graduated from high school in Jesup in 1934. She was a bookkeeper for many businesses.
