Richard A. "Dick" Cram, 82, of Clinton, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, Ill. According to his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be held at a later date. Pape Funeral Home in Clinton is assisting the family.

Dick was born July 15, 1934, in Galesburg, Ill., the son of Ellis and Phyllis (Caul) Cram. He graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park, Ill., in 1952 and from Milliken University with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. He married Constance Hudson in 1955 in Evanston, Ill. He later married Cindy Cotton on May 7, 1983, in Andover, Iowa. Richard worked as a salesman for his father's business, Midland Industries, in 1960 and later, Midland Forge in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He retired in 1997.
Dick was an avid bicyclist, serving as a board member of the Hawkeye Bicycle Association and completing numerous RAGBRAIs. He enjoyed camping, hiking, bird watching and playing racquetball. Richard enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
Richard is survived by his wife, Cindy Cram of Clinton; five children, Scott (Barb) Cram of Shellsburg, Greg Cram of Denton, Texas, Sharolyn (Al) Dunham of Fredericksburg, Va., Penny (Matt) Jolly of Orlando, Fla., and Emily (Matthew Adams) Cotton Cram of Dubuque; five grandchildren, Brandon, Tonya, Erica, Ashley and Nathan; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Corrine) Cram of Crested Butte, Colo.; and two half brothers, John and Tom Cram.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
