Judith "Judi" Ann Kibler (Solberg), 70, of Marion, passed away March 7, 2017, at her home. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Services will be held on Saturday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial will be held in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Judith "Judi" Ann Kibler was born on June 30, 1946, to Ted and Fern Crain Solberg in Independence, Iowa. She grew up in the Rowley and Vinton area. Judi worked at the Me Too and Fareway stores as a teenager and young adult.
She met Samuel Lee Kibler in April 1965 and they were married on May 6, 1967. The first few years they were married, Judi worked at Rockwell Collins. She and Sam enjoyed drag racing cars with friends.
In June 1971, Judi had her son, Michael. She devoted a lot of her time from then on, making sure her children had what they needed, and that they learned well while in school. She volunteered at Emerson Elementary in Marion, helping fifth graders with math, and also helped introduce desktop computers to the second-graders in 1982.
When her children were in high school, she volunteered with the music band booster program. Judi also worked for a few years with the Marion Parks Department and Oakland Road Hy-Vee and volunteered for Mercy Hospital.
Judi is survived by her husband, Samuel; son, Michael and his wife, Nicole (Schuler), and their two children, Neva and Maelen; and a daughter, LeeAnn, and her daughter, Samantha, all of Marion. Also surviving is her sister, Jeanette Hoffman of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, David and Dennis Solberg.
