Agnes W. Lehmkuhl, 91,
of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House surround by her family. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place following the funeral at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Agnes was born Nov. 11, 1925, to Leslie and Emma (Doupnik) Wise, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids and attended Anderson College, where she studied music. Agnes was united in marriage to James Lehmkuhl on Oct. 18, 1952. Before staying at home teaching her children valuable life skills, Agnes was employed as a phone operator and supervisor for Northwestern Bell. Agnes was involved in music ministries at Ellis Park Church of God for most of her life.
Agnes is survived by her loving children, Marlys "Marty" (Ed) Dailey, Tom (Diane) Lehmkuhl, Paul (Michelle) Lehmkuhl and Carl Lehmkuhl; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oldorf Hospice House.
