Kelly Michael Birkicht, 57, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, after a long battle with diabetes and kidney failure. Private family services will be held at a later date. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family.
Kelly was born on March 2, 1960, in Cedar Rapids. He was the third son of William and Pauline Birkicht.
He graduated from Jefferson High School. Kelly worked at multiple trades. He enjoyed fishing and took pride in working on his own vehicles.
Kelly is survived by his brothers, Tom (Jolene) and Darrin (Ranee); a sister, Stacey French; 21 nieces and nephews; and 24 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Garry.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be sent to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
