Bradley Collum, 63, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon. His services were held on Friday, Oct. 20, at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon, with the Rev. Dave Van Kley officiating. Bradley William Collum, the son of Robert and Arlene (Prichard) Collum, was born Oct. 1, 1954, in Belle Plaine, Iowa. He graduated from Vinton High School in 1973. After high school, he worked at the Tama Meat Packing Plant in Tama, Iowa, CNW Railroad, the city of Colorado Springs, Colo., and IBP and Bil-Mar Foods, both in Storm Lake, Iowa. Bradley was married to Cindy Franks in 1979 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and to this union was a son, Bradley Collum Jr. He was married to Mona Berg in 1984 in Colorado Springs, Colo., and to this union three daughters were born, Kimberly, Lisa and Jennifer Collum.
He enjoyed fishing, the Minnesota Vikings and, with thanks to his brother, Terry, he became a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He also really enjoyed trains.
Bradley is survived by Joyce Meister of Sheldon, Iowa; a son, Bradley Collum Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Kimberly Collum of Emmetsburg, Iowa, and her son, Isaiah, Lisa Collum of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jennifer Collum of Sioux Falls, S.D., and her son, Elijah; stepdaughters, Michelle Meister (Tim Olson) of Estherville, Iowa, and their daughters, Anya and Mia, Rebecca Meister of Estherville, Iowa, Amanda McKee and her five children, Trey, Makayla, Isaac, Zach and Nicole, and Heather (Jon) Duin of Sheldon, Iowa, and their three sons, Michael, Matthew and Marshall; a brother, Terry Collum of Belle Plaine, Iowa; a sister, Sandra (Bob) Ohlhauser of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his stepmother, Dorothea Collum of Belle Plaine, Iowa; a stepbrother, Troy Park of Vinton, Iowa; three nieces and a nephew; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
