Patricia J. McKee, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, beginning at 10 a.m. at the chapel. Inurnment will follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Donald McKee of Cedar Rapids; three children, Marsha (Tony) McCall of Crowley, Texas, Mike McKee of Naples, Fla., and Mark (Donna) McKee of Crosby, Texas; and five grandchildren, Kristin, Michael, Christopher, Sarah and Matthew McKee.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Patricia was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of William and Lilla Hunsaker. She was united in marriage to Donald McKee on Jan. 26, 1952, in Kansas City. To this union, three children were born. Patricia was a homemaker and a devoted caregiver to her family. She was employed at the Welcome Wagon of Cedar Rapids, which connects new movers to local businesses in the community. Patricia was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and PEO and was on the board of directors for Tanager Place. She earned the Emeriti Award for her involvement with Tanager Place. She and Donald spent their retirement years in Cedar Rapids and Florida. They loved boating on the Mississippi River. She had a smile for everyone she met and will be missed by all.
