Alice L. Winchip, 98, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Anamosa, passed away Nov. 22, 2017. She was born on Aug. 20, 1919, to Carl and Eulalie Rohwedder of Olin, Iowa.
Alice worked many years for the Rural Electric Cooperative in Anamosa, and was known as "the cake lady."
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents, Carl and Eulalie Rohwedder; and one sister, Esther (Paul) Myers.
Surviving are her four children, Louis (Jacqueline) Winchip of Cedar Rapids; Mary Beth (Allen) Spletzer of Albuquerque, N.M., Galen (Susan) Winchip of Chicago and Wade (Laura) Winchip of Bettendorf, and sisters-in-law, Lois Winchip of Monticello and Roberta Sievers of Anamosa.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous of Monticello. Condolences may be left with the complete obituary at www.cedarmemorial.com.
