Kathryn A. (Mimi) Satterly, 104, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be before the service starting at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kathryn was born Sept. 22, 1912, in Cedar Rapids and grew up in Fairfax. She attended and graduated from Washington High School. She continued her education at Coe College, where she earned her teaching certificate. While at Coe, she was a member of Tri Delta Society.
Following her education she married her high school sweetheart, Chester Satterly, and to this union four children were born. The couple moved to Missouri, where Chester was stationed and serving in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, they returned to Cedar Rapids.
Kathryn began her career teaching at a Fairfax country school. Later, she and Chester purchased the family business, Linn Candy Co., which they owned and operated in Cedar Rapids. She remained with the business until her retirement in 1980. During this time she also was a member of Women's Quota Club.
Kathryn enjoyed traveling, spending time at their cabin in Delhi and going for family drives, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish Kathryn's memory are her children, Clyde Satterly of Marion, Carole Lafferty of Center Point, Cathy (Roger) Walker of Marion and Cheryl (Kevin) Schatzel of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Todd (Sharon) Satterly, Julie (Randy) Peterson, Randy Walker, Chris (Joe) Heyer, Ben (Amy) Shatzel and Kelsi (Adam) Smith; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Helen Sedlacek.
