William "Bill" Dale Jensen, 63, of Marinette, Wis., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, May 29, 2017, in Marinette.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at River of Life. Pastor Steve Irwin will officiate. There will be a reception following at the church. Bill wanted to be buried at sea.
Survivors include a sister, Sherry (Ed) Thornton; his mother; two nephews; two nieces; and three stepchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Bill (Finius) was born Aug. 16, 1953, the son of Robert W. and Lois Jensen. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie in 1971 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps the following year.
He served a tour in Vietnam and was awarded several medals. He was honorably discharged in 1976. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1981 and served on the USS Enterprise, USS Constellation and USS Carl Vinson. He retired in 1988.
Bill loved his drums. He had an opinion on everything, and would say, "Trust me" or "I knew that."
