MARILYN ATWOOD
Cedar Rapids
Marilyn Atwood, 79, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House. A memorial service will be on Saturday, Oct. 21, at noon at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Marilyn was born Oct. 10, 1937, the daughter of John and Murriel (Warner)
Busson. Marilyn married Russ Atwood on July 14, 1958, in Milbank, S.D. Marilyn worked with her husband and sons at Four Guys Auto in Cedar Rapids for over 26 years. She enjoyed interacting with the customers, and they enjoyed her. She loved to do crafts, bargain shop and lunch with her friends and family at Tommy's Restaurant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell, five sisters and one brother.
Left to cherish Marilyn's memories are her children: son, Scott (Cheryl) Atwood of Van Horne; daughter, Laurie (Tim) Stallman of Center Point; and son, Michael Atwood, and daughter, Cheryl Meyers, both of Cedar Rapids. Marilyn also is survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren she adored; two brothers, Harold (Bonnie) Busson and Gary (Dawn) Busson; and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family. She was a kind and compassionate woman who was always giving.
Marilyn was an angel here on earth and is so now in heaven. You are our guardian angel. We know you will always be with us. Until we see you again, sweetheart.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that any memorial contribution be made to Hospice of Mercy.
