Vaneta D. Wilson, 99 of Andover, Minn., formerly
of Marion, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at
her home.
She leaves her daughter, Nance Prescott of Andover; four grandchildren, Darren, Blaine, Lance and Doneta (Jim); 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents, Jay and Mabel Laity; sister, Leona Heiserman; and foster brother, Ernie Robbins.
Vaneta was born on May 22, 1918, in Clayton County, the daughter of Jay and Mabel Laity. She married Donald P. Wilson on Nov. 26, 1936, in Delaware County. They were married for 48 years, when Don passed away in 1984. Vaneta was a floral designer at Bezdek's Florist in Marion for over 35 years and after moving to Andover worked at McDonald's until the age of 92. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching TV and playing solitaire on the computer. Vaneta will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mom and grandmother.
Graveside services at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the graveside service at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
