Lynne Sullivan, 72, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. John R. Flaherty. Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial at a later date: Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines. Arrangements by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors of her wonderful family include son, Jim Sullivan; siblings, Ann (Mike) Webb, Joan (Jim) Friberg, Nancy (Fred) Kindgren and John (Marcie) Bryant; 11 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; a wealth of many friends she cherished and who cherished her; and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lynne Mary Bryant was born Sept. 22, 1945, in Los Angeles, Calif., to John and Imelda (Murphy) Bryant. She attended St. Joseph's Academy in Des Moines, graduating in 1963. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1967 at Clarke College. Lynne worked as a chemist with Swiss Valley, Land O'Lakes and the University of Iowa labs, from where she retired. Lynne's favorite and most recent job was caring for babies and preschool children, where she was known as Miss Lynne.
She belonged to many church groups and prayer circles, and enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong. Lynn enjoyed gifts with Irish themes, and had many artistic talents, including glass art, painting and window crafts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
