No, it's not the super-mega game everyone wanted.
No. 21 Iowa (6-3, 3-3 Big Ten) will play host to Northwestern (5-4, 5-1) at Kinnick on Saturday. It might feel like the Hawkeyes are playing for the Big Ten West Division title, but they are not.
Northwestern almost is. Well, the Wildcats actually are. They need two wins to clinch their first Big Ten title game berth. Northwestern is at Minnesota and then plays host to Illinois to end the season. The Wildcats probably take those home and probably advance to Indianapolis.
Iowa had its chance. Now? Beat Northwestern because it's become a nasty rivalry. This might be the final 'signature win opportunity' for the Hawkeyes in 2018.
We got into 'whole other podcast' territory at the end with the Big Ten discussion. Sorry about that. And, yeah, Jim Delany needs to put a face on the league, especially in the wake of Rutgers and Maryland being horrific garbage barges.
