You're going to feel pangs of regret with the Hawkeyes' 2018 football season.
A bitter loss to Wisconsin. A meltdown at Penn State. Curious officiating and a potent offense at Purdue. And then getting Northwestern'd.
This is the time for grades. Everyone has their own opinion. Disappointed is an acceptable answer. There's nothing wrong with satisfied, although I'm guessing that's a smaller percentage and probably within the program, too.
I file 8-4 into the 'not the best, not the worst' and 'how do you get better than this?'
We hit bowls pretty heavily. It's 60-70 percent Holiday and 25 to 30 percent Citrus and maybe 5 percent for something off the board.
A lot of folks asked who should be the Big Ten West favorite going into 2019. Northwestern? Probably not Wisconsin. Don't count out Iowa. And, hey, Purdue is there and so are Minnesota and Nebraska.
Throw us your Big Ten West 2019 favorite. It's way too early for that, and maybe that's why this exercise is so difficult.
