All Big-Ten football 2018: Iowa’s T.J. Hockenson is top tight end

IOWA CITY - Iowa sophomore tight end T.J. Hockenson was named the Kwalick-Clark Tight End of the Year in the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday.

Hockenson was also the first-team All-Big Ten pick of the conference media. Junior Noah Fant was the first-team pick by the league coaches.

'The tight end positon has been a real strength for our team this year,” Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz said in a release. 'To see both T.J. and Noah recognized is a credit to their performances throughout the season.”

On the offensive line, sophomore left tackle Alaric Jackson was named second team All-Big Ten by both coaches and media. Senior guard Ross Reynolds was second team by coaches and third team by media. Senior center Keegan Render was third team by media and honorable mention by coaches. And sophomore tackle Tristan Wirfs was honorable mention by both coaches and media.

Ihmir Smith-Marsette, who was named the Rodgers-Dwight Return Specialist of the Year Tuesday, earned honorable mention at receiver by the media.

Defensive honors were released Tuesday.
