Miguel Recinos kicked a 41-yard field goal as time expired and Iowa beat Nebraska 31-28 to claim the Heroes Trophy for the fourth straight year.
Iowa converted a fourth-and-8 with 42 seconds left at the Nebraska 37 with a 10-yard pass from Nate Stanley to T.J. Hockenson to set up the winning kick.
The Hawkeyes led 21-13 at halftime and extended the lead to 15, but the Cornhuskers rallied with 15 fourth-quarter points to tie it.
Mekhi Sargent rushed for a career-high 173 yards on 26 carries for Iowa, while Nate Stanley completed 16 of 27 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns.
Nebraska (4-8, 3-6) quarterback Adrian Martinez was 26 of 38 passing for 260 yards, two TDs and a pick and rushed for 76 yards and a score on 17 attempts.
The Hawkeyes finish the regular season 8-4 overall and 5-4 in the Big Ten.
