Jeff Brohm turns down Louisville, stays at Purdue

Jeff Brohm put serious consideration into going home but decided to put down roots at Purdue instead.

Brohm, raised in Louisville and a former quarterback for the Cardinals, opted Wednesday to remain Purdue's head coach rather than return to Kentucky, per multiple reports.

'I want Louisville to do what's best for them ... but this is where I want to be. I like it here,” Brohm said Saturday.

Brohm is 13-12 in two seasons at Purdue, including two wins over Iowa.

Purdue had nine wins from 2013-16 before Brohm entered the picture. The Boilermakers are bowl eligible in 2018 for the second consecutive season and posted a marquee win over College Football Playoff contender Ohio State.

Brohm, 47, met with Louisville athletic director Vince Tyra Tuesday to discuss the opening. Bobby Petrino was fired on Nov. 11 after a 2-8 start.
