Iowa football kicked off its 2018 season Saturday at Kinnick Stadium with a 33-7 win over Northern Illinois, making Kirk Ferentz the winningest coach in program history.
It was Ferentz's 144th victory, breaking a tie with predecessor Hayden Fry.
The Hawkeyes led just 3-0 at halftime, but scored 30 unanswered points to start the second half and cruised to a 1-0 start.
Iowa hosts Iowa State next week at 4 p.m.
