Trey Creamer and Matt Hankins, second year defensive backs for the University of Iowa football team, were arrested for disorderly conduct early Sunday morning, according to the Iowa City Police Department.
According to a news release, head coach Kirk Ferentz announced Sunday the two players have been suspended from the team after receiving citations. They did not travel with the team to Penn State.
Creamer and Hankins each received citations for noise complaints and disorderly conduct related to a house party. This took place at around 1 a.m. Sunday
'Their actions demonstrate poor judgment and are not reflective of the high standards of citizenship that we try to uphold,' Ferentz said. 'It is difficult but important to hold student-athletes accountable.'
According to the release, both players will not participate in any team activities for the next seven days and will not be eligible to travel to Purdue University.
