22 Years as the Kentucky Derby Bugler
Saturday, May 6, 2017, will be the 143rd Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. Steve Buttleman of Louisville, KY, will be the bugler.
He has been the bugler for 22 years, playing the "call to the post" before each horse race.
Steve also is the bugler at a second horse track, Keeneland in Lexington, KY, since 2013.
Steve graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids in 1983. He is the son of Jim and Jerry Buttleman.
