The high school sweethearts were married on June 30, 1961 in Cedar Rapids.
They will be celebrating with a trip to Wisconsin and also a family trip in the fall to Disneyworld.
Their children are Kurt (Angie) Tjelmeland, Kim (Tom) Durgin, Kreg (Karla) Tjelmeland, grandchildren (listed from oldest to youngest): Nathan, Tyler, Tucker, Lucas (Cara), Tanner, Kara, Travis, Kayla, Alex, and great-granddaughter, Izy.
