Jim Hanson and Pat Nelson of Cedar Falls are pleased to announce the

engagement of their daughter, Joy

Hanson, to Tyler Bertroche, son of Joe and Sharon Bertroche of Des Moines.

Joy graduated from Northern University High School in 2006 and received her B.A. in Biology and Spanish from Wartburg College in 2010. Joy

received her Medical Degree and

Masters in Public Health from Carver College of Medicine in 2015 and is a third-year resident in Pediatrics at

St. Louis University in St. Louis.

Tyler graduated from Kennedy High School in 2007 and received his B.A. in Biology and Spanish from Washington University in St. Louis in 2011. Tyler received his Medical

Degree from Carver College of

Medicine in 2015 and is a third-year resident in Otolaryngology at

Washington University in St. Louis.

Joy and Tyler will be married on

May 26, 2018, in Iowa City.
