Happy 100th birthday on Jan. 29 to

Frances Carlson of Cedar Rapids,

affectionately known as "Granny Franny" by her grandchildren! Fran is cherished by her family which includes three children, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Fran was born in 1921 in Bluffton

Township, Iowa. She married her

husband Arthur (Art) on Oct. 25, 1941 and they were blessed with three children, Jacki, Dean and Mark. Art passed away in 1983.

Currently, Fran enjoys living independently in her own home, cooking her own meals, doing word searches, listening to good ol' country music on the radio, reading a good book, and talking to her family and friends. She has been known to have a Ruthie's with her pizza and a Fireball shot with her family at Christmas!
