Ninety Years Young!

Mary Ironside was born on June 6, 1930. She

graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1948, and many of her classmates remained

lifelong friends. She married her high school

sweetheart, Tom Ironside, in 1949, and began what she describes as "the happiest time of her life." She worked as a secretary for two years until the birth of her first child. Together they had six children: Sue (Bob) Nelson (both deceased), Joe (Deb) Ironside, John (Deb) Ironside, Bill (Joan) Ironside, Nancy (Kent) Cole, and Julie (Tom) Jacobs.

She had many part-time jobs over the years to help support her family; she later worked full time again at Turner Microphone and All Pets Veterinary Clinic. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at Mercy's Oldorf Hospice House. She currently resides at Keystone Place, where she has many dear friends.

She is an extraordinary card giver, making sure her 21 grandchildren, their spouses, and 33 great-grandchildren receive a birthday card each year, along with numerous other friends and relatives. Due to the pandemic, Mary has been in quarantine since March 12th, and we are unable to hold the celebration we had originally planned. Please join us in showering the "queen of card-giving" with some extra special wishes on her 90th birthday!

Send greetings to Mary Ironside, 6126 Rockwell Dr. NE, #204, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
