“The Black Gold Tapestry” by Sandra Sawatzky
Millions of years of the history of oil and its global extraction are illustrated through a 220-foot embroidered tapestry on exhibit at the University of Iowa Stanley Museum of Art. The tapestry will remain on exhibit through June 14.

Pork Tornadoes
The Pork Tornadoes return to Cedar Rapids for their biggest local show to date. Celebrating their 18th anniversary, the band will bring new songs and an even bigger party to the Alliant Energy PowerHouse.

“The Negro Artist” Documentary Screening
Performance by spoken word poets Caleb Rainey and Kelsey Bigelow followed by a screening of The Negro Artist, an award-winning documentary about Caleb Rainey’s life, art, and influence. Filmmaker Nik Heftman will join Rainey and Bigelow for interactive Q&A with the audience after the screening.

“Guys & Dolls”
This classic musical is about two big-city gamblers and the women who love them. It tells the overlapping stories of high-roller Sky Masterson, who falls in love with mission worker Sarah Brown, and lovable rapscallion Nathan Detroit, engaged for 14 years to Miss Adelaide, a headliner at the Hot Box Club.

“Primary Trust” at Riverside Theatre
Awarded the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this play tells the heartwarming story of Kenneth, a 30-something man working in a small town at a small bookstore, who spends his evenings drinking mai-tais at a Tiki bar – and chatting with his imaginary friend. When the bookstore closes, Kenneth embarks on a journey of self-discovery and lands a job at the local bank, where he finds the kind of real connections that have always eluded him. The show runs through March 15.
