Evelyn C. Wenndt Graham, age 96, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Memorial services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Frank Shepherd, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until service time. Burial will be at a later date.
Evelyn was born July 23, 1929 in Lowden, Iowa to Emil and Lily (Hintz) Freese. She was married to Merlen Wenndt on March 18, 1950 in Lowden. He passed away on May 7, 1982. She later married Walter Graham and he preceded her in death.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter Jacquelyn Sheldon of Clarence; son Jeff (Deb) Wenndt of Clarence; grandchildren Regan (Matt) Jacobson, Rachel (Ryan Medico) Sheldon, Randi Sheldon, Kelly (Eric) Noren, Allison (Brent) Hansen, Andrew (Kaitlin) Wenndt and Jenel (Tyler) Klimesh; 10 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Pam Wenndt of Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; 2 sisters; a brother; son Thomas; daughter Jerilyn; and son-in-law Philip “Gor” Sheldon.
Evelyn was a wonderful mother and a great cook with her staple being her Lemon Meringue pie. She taught country school before Merlen needed her help as a farm wife and later was a secretary at the Clarence COOP. Evelyn cherished family dinners and enjoyed gardening, canning, and especially her grandchildren.
