Vernon L Smith, 90, of Marion, went peacefully to Heaven to be forever with the Lord on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church, 700 Boyson Rd. NE in Cedar Rapids. (The church is also live streaming the funeral from their website (https://friendshipbaptist.church/) and Facebook page. Friends may visit with the family after 10 a.m. Saturday until service time at the church. Burial will take place at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are assisting the family at this time. A full obituary can be viewed and online condolences may be left for the family at www.broshchapel.com.
