What to know: Only one Big Ten team (UCLA) has a longer active winning streak than Minnesota, which has won four consecutive games to climb into a sixth-place tie.
The Gophers are on solid footing to reach their first NCAA tournament since 2018.
Iowa, meanwhile, dropped back-to-back games in Los Angeles after a 9-0 Big Ten start. The Hawkeyes stand in third place in the conference, behind UCLA (21-1, 11-0) and Michigan (19-3, 10-1).
The series has taken a decided Iowa slant lately. The Hawkeyes have defeated Minnesota 11 straight times; the Gophers’ last triumph over their southern neighbors came in the 2018 Big Ten tournament.
Minnesota leads the league in scoring defense (54.8 points allowed per game) and is second in assist-to-turnover rate (1.62 to 1). Grace Grocholski is among the Big Ten leaders in 3-point percentage (54 of 112, .481).
