Dennis Ralph Schissel, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on January 30, 2026.
He was born April 24, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, to Ralph and Martina Schissel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beverly, and his brother John.
Dennis graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in Cedar Rapids and served four years in the United States Navy. In 1969, he married Beverly. He was a 57-year active member of IBEW Local 405, where he proudly served as president, treasurer, and instructor.
Known for always having a smile on his face, Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sharing a cold beer with his many friends and family, and he especially loved supporting his grandchildren in their many activities.
He is survived by his children Denise (Mark) Todd, Kevin (Denise) Schissel, and Bryan (Chris) Schissel; grandchildren Aubrey, Austin, Natasha, Brett, Katelyn, and Jack; four great-grandchildren; and siblings Kathleen Green and Peter Schissel.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 4–7 p.m. at IBEW Local 405, Cedar Rapids.
