Leonard “Lenny” Chapman, 82, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. The family will host the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at Anchor Bible Church in Center Point. Burial will take place on a later date at Center Point Cemetery.
Lenny was born April 11, 1943, in Greeley, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Myrtle Chapman. He attended Greeley High School. On January 2, 1968, Lenny was united in marriage to Karen Burmeister. He worked as a welder at Barner & Lees, American Trencher, and Borlaug Manufacturing.
Lenny is survived by his wife, Karen Chapman of Center Point; children, Terry Bader of Guttenberg, Iowa, Mike (Tina) Chapman of Walker, Iowa, Jeff (Becky) Chapman of Center Point, Tonia (Keith) Techau of Lisbon, Iowa, and Brandy Chapman of Florida; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Vern (Delores) Chapman of Oneida, Iowa, Lyle (Sandra) Chapman of Center Point, and Harold (Joan) Chapman of Center Point; and sisters-in-law, Monica Chapman and Marilyn Neuhaus, both of Manchester, Iowa.
Lenny was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Alberta Starr, Glen Chapman, Verl (Joyvonne) Chapman, Denny Chapman, Lester Chapman; and son-in-law, Mark Bader.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice House of Mercy for their wonderful care.
