Colleen Hansen, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, January 29, 2026. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha, Iowa, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Colleen was born on December 21, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Clayton and LeNore (Peterman) Pitcher. She graduated from Washington High School and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College. Colleen was employed as a legal administrative assistant with Aegon until her retirement in 2003. She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha, where she was active in several church groups, including quilting and knitting. Colleen also greatly enjoyed time with her bridge groups and playing cards with friends at Pizza Ranch.
Survivors include her children, Dennis Hansen and Darcy Hansen, both of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Caleb (Kassidy) Hansen of Cedar Rapids, Kaitlin (Trevor) Johnston of Shellsburg, Iowa, Dustin (Lauren) Allen of Virginia, and Sheldon Allen of Oklahoma; numerous great-grandchildren; and her longtime special friend, Bill Tompkins of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother and his wife, Danny and Caroline Pitcher.
