Recognized for her big laugh, impeccable style, and generosity, Mary New died on January 17, 2026.
An open house tribute to Mary will be held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, her daughter, Jennifer, asks that you consider a contribution to the Iowa City School District Foundation in Mary’s name; the family will divide funds between the art program and mock trial team at City High School, two programs that were formative for her grandchildren.
