Timothy Albert Hotz, 58, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., both at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services of Cedar Rapids. Burial will immediately follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, officiated by Reverend Roger Dykstra.
Tim was born on October 7, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Albert and Della Delois (Haneline) Hotz. He graduated from Washington High School in 1986 with plans to attend college and pursue a career as a music producer. Instead, Tim chose to remain in Cedar Rapids to care for his family - one of many selfless decisions that would come to define his life.
For 32 years, Tim worked tirelessly at the Cedar Rapids Country Club as a dishwasher, giving everything he had to support the team and ensure operations ran smoothly day in and day out. His dedication was unwavering, and his familiarity with every corner of the Club was unmatched. Tim lived his life with purpose and genuine devotion to those he loved and to his work. If someone was in need, he was always there to help - with a quick nod of his head, he seemed to know exactly what needed to be done. Whether it was lending a hand to a needed task or tracking down a rare CD that no one else could find, Tim was always there for his family.
Outside of work, Tim was an avid collector of vinyl records and CDs. There was always music to be played, enjoyed, and studied. He cared deeply for those around him, and that care was evident in the commitment and kindness he brought to every aspect of his life.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law; his CRCC family at the Cedar Rapids Country Club; his chosen brother, George Madlon; and his chosen nieces, Montana and Skilar Madlon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Penny.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Foundation 2 Crisis Center of Cedar Rapids in memory of Tim.
