Three dead, two from Cedar Rapids, in Black Hawk County crash

Three people — including two women from Cedar Rapids — died in a head-on crash in Black Hawk County Monday afternoon, according to a report issued by the Iowa State Patrol.
According to the report, Thomas Sidler, 63, of Robertsdale, Alabama, was traveling north in a Ford F150 on Interstate 380, near Gilbertville. At about 4:05 p.m., he crossed the median and crashed into a southbound Toyota RAV4 that was carrying two women from Cedar Rapids: Judy Fisher, 68, and Jessica Fisher, 45.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.
The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, Gilbertville police and fire departments, Waterloo Fire Department, and Evansdale EMS all responded to the scene along with the Iowa State Patrol. The crash still is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
