Shirley Brockhohn, 71, died peacefully, Friday January 16, 2026, with her family surrounding her at St. Luke’s Hospice, Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning, January 24, 2026, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Deacon Ed Goldsmith will officiate at the services. Thoughts, Memories and Condolences may be left at Goettschonline.com.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Larry, 2 children, Kelly (Joe) Hensley, Keith (Angie) Brockhohn, 4 grandchildren, Ethen, Emma, Andrew and Claire, 3 siblings, Donna Lincoln, Anamarie Hood, Tim (Kathy) Hildebrand, and sister-in-law, Linda LeMay. She was preceded by her parents, her stepfather John Hildebrand, siblings George, Barb and Jeanette, and brother-in-law, Tom.
Shirley Ann LeMay was born February 23, 1954, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the daughter of Theodore and Emma (Braun) LeMay. Shirley graduated from Beckman High School in Dyersville and later worked at Ertl Toys. Shirley married Larry Brockhohn on April 20, 1974, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington. Shirley then was employed by Family Foods and Cascade Die Mold in Monticello. She operated her own business, Book & Cranny, in Monticello then started Paint Plus, painting and wall papering until retirement in 2011.
Shirley enjoyed reading a good book. She and Larry belonged to the Monticello Golf Club. She was always doing Sudoku and Word Search Books. Most important was spending time with her kids and grandkids.
