Robert Guy Farnsworth, 81, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at his home. The family will host a Celebration of Life from 1 to 4 p.m. on January 31, 2026, at The Midnight Gem, 2613 Ders Drive NW, Swisher, Iowa.
Robert was born on March 13, 1944, in La Junta, Colorado, the son of Robert and Beulah (Brennan) Farnsworth. He was united in marriage to Carole Harris on February 15, 1964. Robert worked for Solar Transport until his retirement in 1999 and was a member of Teamsters Local 238. In his free time, he enjoyed playing bingo, camping, boating, fishing, and hunting. Robert especially loved sneaking chocolate to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carole Farnsworth of Cedar Rapids; his daughters, Cheryl Duke of Cedar Rapids, Kelly (Joe) Pond of Swisher, and Theresa (Darin) Nelson of Walford; eight grandchildren, Cami, Dylan, Jordan, Jayden, Olivia, Drew, Adam, and Alex; twelve great-grandchildren, Ana, Piper, Beau, Wilder, Henry, Krew, Maverick, Sophia, Elias, and three more on the way; and his siblings, Rick Farnsworth, Margaret Daines, Jeff Jeffords, and Steve Jeffords.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert Guy Farnsworth; twin grandsons, Ron and Robert Stearns; his sister, Debbie Jeffords; and his son-in-law, Steve Duke.
