Shirley Joan Moser, 90, of Robins, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026. In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private family graveside service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Shirley was born May 30, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Joseph E. Musel and Marianne Zikmund. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1953. After working for five years, Shirley followed in her grandfather’s footsteps and became a barber.
On May 8, 1961, Shirley married Dean M. Moser at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.
As a child, Shirley loved riding horses, bowling, and roller skating. Later in life, she continued bowling and, in retirement, enjoyed playing Mahjongg with friends.
Shirley and Dean enjoyed traveling, and one of her favorite trips was to Africa. She had a lifelong love for all kinds of animals.
Shirley often said her most rewarding achievement in life was raising her two daughters, Pam and Kim.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Dean Moser; daughters, Pamela (Dave) Cook and Kimberly (Jeff) Johnson; and grandchildren, Tyler and Alex Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joyce Musel.
