Mary Ann Johnson, 67, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, with her loved ones around her, from a long battle with leukemia. Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 3-6 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Linwood Cemetery.
Mary was born in St. Louis, Mo., but spent many of adult years in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She loved learning and even had a master’s in human relations. She worked in the food service industry for most of her life. Mary’s family was the most important thing in her life. She is survived by her boys, Quinton L. Twilla, Maurice Johnson, Tyrone Johnson, Terry Nagel, Ed Nagel and Sean Sweeney; grandchildren, Logan and Riley; sisters, Rosemary Hawkins, Zula Chandler, Sylvia Richarson and Geri Kendle; many nieces and nephews; special family son-in-law, Russ Gladden; her Bestie, Kathy Donelson; hundreds of friends; and her beloved cats Simi and Baby.
She is preceded in death by her son, Bruce Twilla, parents, husband, Leon Johnson, sisters, Missy Hayes, Flora Twilla.
Special thanks to Dr. Nabi at Hall Perine team, she loved all the nurses there, and they loved her. Also Mercy Hospice.
