IOWA CITY — A cafe is closing in Iowa City after a decade in business.
Cortado Mediterranean Cafe, 26 S. Clinton St., announced its closure in a social media post on Jan. 6. Its last day open will be Jan. 30.
In addition to its coffee, bagels and sandwiches, the café’s menu included standouts like challa bread, pita bread, hummus, falafel burgers and other Mediterranean options.
“We have loved being a place for the town to come together and enjoy great coffee and food,” the post said. “10 years went by in a flash, but the memories will stay forever. A bittersweet ending to such a wonderful dream.”
