Victoria “Vicky” Marie Seaton, 71, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on January 9, 2026, in Iowa City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Church, Cedar Rapids. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Vicky and her family.
Vicky was born on September 11, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Louis Edward Hays and Elizabeth Elnora (Wathier) Hays. She attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and graduated from LaSalle High School.
Vicky devoted 35 years of her life to working at Metro High School, where she made a lasting impact through her dedication and care for students and staff alike. After retiring she worked for Zach Johnson Kids On Course tutoring children.
She was a woman who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. Vicky loved trips to Riverside Casino, playing and calling bingo, watching Court TV, and spending time enjoying Mexican food and a good margarita. She will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the joy she found in everyday moments with family and friends.
Vicky is survived by her son, Erik Seaton; her lifelong companion, Gary Wiseheart; her grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Taylor Becker, Austin Becker, and Leah Becker; her sisters, Melinda Clark, Sheila (CJ) Pickart, and Susanne Hays; her brother, Dennis Hays; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Elizabeth Hays, her sister Mary Theresa Hays, her brother Richard (Rose) Hays, and her beloved dog Louie.
