Martin L. Warson, 90, of Lone Tree, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home in Lone Tree. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lone Tree. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery with full military rites. Following the committal service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the VA Hospital Home Care Program or the Lone Tree Fire and Rescue in memory of Martin. Martin Lee Warson was born on January 17, 1935, in Lee County, Iowa, the son of Roy and Marie (Wilson) Warson. He was a graduate of City High in Iowa City.
Following graduation, Martin served in the United States Army from January 1954 – December 1955 during the Korean War, serving 17 months in Korea in the Army Engineers. On August 28, 1956, Martin was united in marriage to Rose Fuhrmeister at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City. He started his work career as a farmer and then became a truck driver for many years, retiring from Walmart as a truck driver after 17 years of service. Martin was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lone Tree, Lone Tree American Legion Post 457 and many card clubs. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, camping, fishing and traveling all over the United States, taking many trips to Florida and Minnesota, but most of all, Martin loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Martin will be deeply missed by his wife, Rose of Lone Tree; his children, Kathy (Keith) Hotz of Lone Tree, Roy (Brett) Warson of Fort Meyers, Florida, Mark (Sondra) Warson of Madrid and Allen (Mandy) Warson of Lone Tree; grandchildren, Kyle Hotz, Travis Hotz, Tyler Hotz, Jason Wertzbaugher, Candice Alke, Nick Warson, Cody Warson, Molly King, Sydney Brewer, Cassidy Warson, Chaz Warson, Clayton Warson, Kennedi Lehman and Riley Warson and 29 great-grandchildren.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Amy Jo Warson and sister, Maxine (Robert) Ruppert.
