Fans of an East Coast brewery can soon toast to news of the brewery’s upcoming expansion.
Yuengling, which claims the title of America’s oldest brewery with a founding in 1829, will soon be for sale in Iowa with its latest advance in territory.
Yuengling will be on draft taps in bars starting Feb. 2 and on shelves at grocery and liquor stores on March 23. The company said its expansion to Iowa was influenced by feedback from residents on social media, as well as bar owners and retailers.
“We've been hearing from fans across the Midwest for years asking when they’d finally be able to enjoy a cold Yuengling close to home,” said Jennifer Yuengling, vice president of operations for D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. “That day is almost here, and we’re thrilled to bring Yuengling to Iowa and Wisconsin. It’s always special to see new fans experience our beer for the first time.”
The rollout will start with Lager and FLIGHT taps of the brand’s varieties first. Retail availability from the brand will include its Lager, Light Lager, FLIGHT, Black & Tan and Golden Pilsner varieties.
Over nearly 200 years, their growth across the country has been paced with deliberation. The company’s westward expansion has initiated brewing operations in Fort Worth, Texas, and Milwaukee.
“We expand slowly and methodically on purpose. Each state we enter looks a little different because we try to tailor the launch experience to the local market, but we always stay true to who we are as the Oldest Brewery in America,” said Wendy Yuengling, chief administrative officer. “This latest launch gave us a unique chance to do something fun while still honoring the heart and tradition of the brand.”
