What to know: Iowa has won 11 straight in the series, with the last 10 being decided by double digits. Four times in this stretch, the Hawkeyes have scored 100 points or more.
This will be the Hawkeyes’ first action since a 90-64 loss Dec. 20 to No. 1 Connecticut. They committed 26 turnovers, which led to 41 UConn points.
Ava Heiden leads the Hawkeyes at 14.6 points per game. Hannah Stuelke is at 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
Iowa opened Big Ten play with a 79-36 rout at Rutgers on Dec. 6. Penn State’s early conference game was a 101-83 home loss to Nebraska.
The Nittany Lions have lost four of their last five, including a 70-54 setback against Richmond on Dec. 21.
Gracie Merkle and Kiyomi McMiller lead Penn State at 19.8 and 18.2 points per game, respectively.
A 6-foot-6 redshirt junior, Merkle adds 8.2 rebounds per contest and leads the nation at 73.5 percent from the floor.
