Iowa High School Athletic Association releases initial state dual team rankings
Southeast Polk (3A), Clarion-Goldfield-Dows (2A) and Don Bosco (1A) open as top-ranked teams

The Iowa High School Athletic Association released its first installment of dual rankings Tuesday. The poll is used to determine the top 24 teams in each class that qualify for the dual postseason. Thee second set of rankings will be released Jan. 13 with the final poll scheduled for Jan. 27.
Southeast Polk is the top-ranked team in Class 3A. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Don Bosco are ranked No. 1 in 2A and 1A, respectively.
In 3A, Western Dubuque is No. 6, Iowa City West is seventh Linn-Mar is 11th and Cedar Rapids Prairie is No. 16.
Decorah has been impressive early this season. The Vikings are ranked second in 2A. The Wamac Conference is also well represented. Independence is fourth, West Delaware sits in fifth, Mount Vernon is No. 14, Williamsburg is 16th and Solon is 23 rd.
Alburnett is sixth in 2A, bumping up from 1A. The Pirates were State Dual runners-up last season. North Fayette Valley is ninth, Anamosa is No. 20, West Liberty is 22nd and Union Community comes in at No. 24.
Jesup is second with Lisbon at No. 5 in 1A. Iowa Valley (16th), Belle Plaine (19th) and North Linn (21st) are also ranked.

SOLON DUO WINS TITLES
Solon’s Anderson Osgood and Lucas Feuerbach won individual championships at the Fort Madison Invitational on Saturday. Osgood captured the 106-pound bracket, while Feuerbach won the heavyweight division.
Osgood pinned Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont’s Keller Little in 2:50 of the final, improving to 18-1 overall. Feuerbach, the 2A state runner-up last season, pinned Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s Anthony Keys for the crown. He is also 18-1 this season.
Benton Community’s Elias Bieschke won the 157-pound title.
C.R. JEFFERSON’S IGRAM EARNS GOLD
Cedar Rapids Jefferson’s Zayd Igram claimed the 120-pound title Saturday at Central DeWitt’s Saber Invitational. Igram topped Wilton’s Romann Derksen, 12-9, in the final.
Igram improved to 7-1 this season, opening with a technical fall and adding a third-period pin over Maquoketa’s Tayden Howell, who was ranked No. 8 in 2A at the time.
