Gary E. Denison, 73, of Rancho Mirage, CA, formally of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at the Eisenhower Medical Center, Rancho Mirage, CA, on Friday, December 5, 2025.
Gary was born on October 6, 1952, the son of Wilford and Betty (Lane) Denison. He graduated from English Valleys High School in 1970, attended Kirkwood Community College and then later continued his education obtaining his accounting degree.
Gary served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the North English Christian Church. Gary was loyally employed at Erb’s Technology for 35+ years, where he served as co-owner and CFO.
Gary and his husband, Larry spent many years traveling and after retiring moved to California, where they made their dream a reality.
Gary is survived by his husband, Larry Maxwell of Rancho Mirage, CA; sisters Pam Denison of Cedar Rapids, and Crystal (Stan) Weiss of Ladora; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ruth Ann Dill, and their beloved dogs who were constant companions throughout his life.
Per his request, Gary was cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. If you desire, memorials may be directed to an animal shelter or rescue of your choice.
