IOWA CITY — Add one more accolade to the Iowa football offensive line awards — the Joe Moore Award.
For the second time in program history, the Hawkeye offensive line was recognized as the best offensive front in college football. Iowa was a four-time semifinalist, and won the trophy in 2016.
The award was presented to the Hawkeyes and offensive line coach George Barnett following team practice Monday, with the announcement livestreamed on the Joe Moore Award’s YouTube page.
The Joe Moore Award recipient is credited to have toughness, teamwork, consistency and the line’s ability to finish plays. All three finalists this season were Big Ten programs, including No. 1 Indiana and No. 5 Oregon.
“Speaks a lot for the Big Ten just to have those representatives in the final three,” sophomore guard Trevor Lauck said about being a finalist in his first season as a starter. “The Big Ten prides itself on being good up front and being physical. So for this committee to see that on film too just a testament, and what we stand for up front.”
Hawkeyes line helped the Iowa offense record over 2,100 rushing yards, including 29 rushing touchdowns and allowing just 16 sacks. Iowa also is one of eight programs to have the same starting five in every game this season.
Filled with veteran experience, this is the second marquee honor for the offensive line this season. Center Logan Jones won the Rimington Trophy, given the best center in college football, and was named Iowa’s 17th unanimous All-American.
Jones, Beau Stephens and Gennings Dunker all received First Team All-Big Ten honors by coaches, and the trio also earned AP All-Big Ten honors, too. It was the first time since 2002 that three offensive linemen were named to the conference’s first team.
Sophomore Kade Pieper and senior Stephens finished their second season as a starter in the front five, while Lauck completed his fist season as a starter. Jones and Dunker have been starters in the trenches since 2022.
Iowa faces No. 14 Vanderbilt in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Eve to close out the 2025 season.
