I’ll Meet You There opens bookstore, cafe in Czech Village

CEDAR RAPIDS — A new bookstore and cafe is opening this month in the Czech Village after several months of anticipation.
I’ll Meet You There, a new joint business concept by sisters Lindsay and Jaymie McGrath, opened its bookstore on Dec. 8. Its cafe, on the other half of its space, tentatively plans to open Friday, pending health department inspections.
The cafe will feature a curated line of coffee drinks and sweet treats, including French pastries by Sandrine Wallace.
The opening brings new life to 62 16th Ave. SW, which has been vacant since its last tenant, pizzeria Hospoda, closed there in 2023.
I’ll Meet You There carries on the legacy of the owners’ late mother, Mary Kay McGrath. The entrepreneur and property owner, known as the “Angel of the Village,” led revitalization efforts in the Czech Village and New Bohemia districts until she died in February 2024.
